Born in Sài Gòn and raised in Los Angeles, Nguyễn Thị Phương Lan / Lan Nguyễn (she/her) grew up in diverse and challenging environments that forged a strong backbone for rigorous authenticity and unquenchable curiosity. Mangosteen Ceramics is her creative outlet for crafting small batch, one-of-a kind pottery that invites tactile engagement, curiosity, and introspection. Each piece is a conversation with the viewer, encouraging them to examine not only the form but also to wonder about the process behind each piece, hopefully inspiring them to explore their own creativity.
