The Vietnamese American Arts and Letters Association (VAALA) invites local Vietnamese American young women and gender nonconforming individuals (ages 16-22) to participate in a new workshop series, Gallery Beyond Walls: Project Fôtô. Our program is inclusive and welcomes all women-identified and non-binary individuals regardless of gender expression. Made possible with support from the Garden Grove Community Foundation, Macy’s, and Union Bank, this project empowers and encourages participants to express their artistic talents and explore their imagination, as well as learn more about themselves, their family, community, culture and history.

Throughout the program, 20 participants in the Orange County area will be mentored by professional artists on different visual mediums (photography, video, and printmaking). At the end of the program, the participants will have the opportunity to share their work in a public exhibition.

The workshops are free and no previous experience in photo, film, or printmaking is required to participate!

If you have any questions about the program or are interested in getting involved or volunteering, please contact Project Director, Quyên Nguyen-Le at quyennguyenle@vaala.org.

*Our program is inclusive and respectful of all woman-identified, gender nonconforming, and non-binary individuals regardless of gender expression.
